Embark on a hellish journey in Hell's Delivery, a 2 player cooperative 3D puzzle platformer. You and your partner play as delivery demons tasked with navigating treacherous fiery environments set in hell all while carrying a package and delivering them to eccentric clients. While you and your partner are working together to deliver the package, the Devil has decided that only one of you can receive an elusive promotion. Stay on your toes and watch out for your partner taking any opportunity they can to sabotage you and snatch that promotion.

Level Design/Art

For this project I took the role of the level designer and was in charge of designing engaging 2 player puzzles in a hellish environment. This process involved documentation, grayboxing, mechanics programming, playtesting, asset creation, and level art.

Our Design Challenge

Our core mechanic of cooperation and sabotage presented a unique design challenge. I had to design levels with the goal of encouraging a rivalry between the players while also having cooperative gameplay. In order to solve this challenge, I employed many different strategies that I wrote about in my case study, Designing Distrust: Blurring the Lines of Cooperation and Sabotage

Player 1 Choosing To Sabotage Player 2

Teamwork

This game was created as a capstone project by Team Ginkgo. Our team consisted of six members. We worked closely with each other maintaining consistent communication, healthy and positive dynamics, and a strong shared vision for our game.

I spent a large portion of my time on the project doing level art. Working with our artists, I used props, modular assets, VFX, and lighting to create a thematic and dynamic world for the players to become immersed in. We made use of low-poly assets for both style and efficiency.

Additional Work Gallery

Along with level design I was also flexible and worked on different aspects of the game, mainly mechanics programming, animation, and 3D art.
