Level Design

My channel!

Achieving a level of design so distinct that it garners recognition and bears the name of its creator is an honor few achieve.

Geometry Dash is a rhythm based platformer with strong community driven content. Using the in-game level editor, I created and shared many levels amassing millions of plays. My style of creating was often replicated or used as inspiration for others, which resulted in the style being named after my online name.

Level Design

Designing a level in Geometry Dash requires many skills present in level design that can be applied to any project. Designing Geometry Dash levels has taught me level design, grayboxing, concepting, visual design, playtesting, and an iterative design process.

I wrote about how level editors including Geometry Dash teach game design skills in my deep dive: How Level Editors Can Teach Game Design

"LazerBlitz Style"

Over the time I spent designing levels, I ended up developing my own unique style of creation. As I refined my skills, I began to become a recognizable designer within the community.

Some community members were inspired by my style of creation and took inspiration from it. The style caught on within the community and the style was dubbed "LazerBlitz style", named after my online name "LazerBlitz".

What does LazerBlitz style look like?

Technically, anything that I create. The way that it can be defined is a bright, mostly monochrome with black and white, tech style. Some defining traits are technology themed designs with hard angles, incremented gradient elements, and space themes.

There is also a wiki page that was created by the community!
